So I designed a website for free for a certain organization (like a church). I designed a functional and visually pleasing site, but the downside was no one else knew HTML to change the web pages or even knew how to edit the pages with a GUI so I switched to WordPress.
After using WordPress for several months and deligating content responsibilities to different people, I suddenly could not log on one day via FTP to the server. I investigated a bit and found a 404 message saying that the page did not exist anymore.
I waited a few days and today I discovered a horrible site in its place. It’s done by an obvious newcomer to what they claim to be “web design”. The content is old…etc..etc…
What makes it worse is that they used the code from the pre-WordPress days that I wrote myself. They simply copy and pasted the elements I created into their template of crap. So now I question if what rights I have in terms of my code.
I don’t know – I’m angry.
