This spring break I planned on putting my robot together. I only got 2 minor things done: making the all important parallel port connector and formatting the control computer with Ubuntu Linux. I have no motorized base, no battery to power the thing, and no relay board constructed.
Now, I fully realize that the passing of my grandfather put a damper on my plans, but I really expected to get a whole lot more accomplished.
As the burial is today, I didn’t go to school. I still have some assignments looming over my head that I must complete tonight. Then, when I get back to class tomorrow, I will have make up work to complete as well…
But one good thing came out of this break, I had the chance to meet new friends and to hang out with some old one’s too. For that, I am grateful.
Thanks friends!

In life, if you do it right, you are able to find your own group of supporters that are going through the same emotional garbage you are. All I’m gonna say is that I’ve found a few great people and that they are out there. So if you are struggling… there is hope.

So I am happy to announce as of right now, my server and firewall have been running together for 33 days. Without restart. Without any maintenance beyond running the update script.
It’s wonderful!
