Dangerous Idea

SO,
I’m playing with the idea of setting up a full-blown email server for the domain spicyomelet.com as part of my system here.
The problem is, everytime I try and set one up, it just gets silly and I never have time for it, so I abandon it. And there was that one time where I had to re-install ubuntu b/c of some dependancy error… but that’s another story.

ttyl,

kw

The end has come and passed…

Well yesterday, my high school held its famous Armageddon event where the classes comepete in games ranging from football to chess and have a final showdown in dodgeball.

This year’s event was less than organized and was not put together all too well… as a class officer… it will be better next year. The co-class president and I have discussed some things that could be better right off the bat, but we planned on holding a formal meeting of the officers to discuss all the details.

My class, the junior class, won the entire even overall, but lost in a the final round of dodgeball against the seniors. Blame it on the weather I guess.

After that was all done with and later that night, we held our Battle of the Bands competition where there were 10 local artists invited to play and be judged on who, overall, is the best band. Last night’s winners were That’s Right and the acoustic act When Two Becomes One. These were all local bands made up of high school peeps.

It was a good night – I got to judge and thought some stuff was amazing for what it was. I like rock, but it can be repeatative after listening for 4 hours of straight rock. I also have certain opinions on the style itself.

I can’t wait for summer, I really hope that my robotics project takes off… so far, I have 80% of the materials gathered. I just need to get motors to drive the bot and then put it all together. I hope to develop something that will be a fun (and expensive) toy to play with which I will have learned a lot about control systems by developing.

Well, good luck and good night,

kw

Story of the day!

Cleaning rotten office fridge sends 7 to hospital from noxious fumes

May 12, 2009

SAN JOSE, Calif. — An office worker cleaning a fridge full of rotten food created a smell so noxious that it sent seven co-workers to the hospital and made many others ill.

Firefighters had to evacuate the AT&T building in downtown San Jose on Tuesday, after the flagrant fumes prompted someone to call 911. A hazmat team was called in.

What they found was an unplugged refrigerator that had been crammed with moldy food.

Authorities say an enterprising office worker had decided to clean it out, placing the food in a conference room while using two cleaning chemicals to scrub down the mess. The mixture of old lunches and disinfectant caused 28 people to need treatment for vomiting and nausea.

Authorities say the worker who cleaned the fridge didn’t need treatment — she can’t smell because of allergies.
